Real estate agents have 30 days to register with APRERA

Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (APRERA) is targeting unregistered agents. They warn the public to avoid them. All agents must register within 30 days. Failure to do so will result in penalties under the law.

APRERA Chairman S. Suresh Kumar noted the sector relies on trust. Unregistered agents harm buyer safety and market clarity. Registration is mandatory, not optional. He advises buyers to check agents on the APRERA website.

Currently, only 248 agents are registered. Thousands operate without registration. APRERA also noted project approval delays. 682 projects are pending due to missing promoter details. Notices have been sent. APRERA members can now hold hearings to speed up decisions.

Agents who don’t comply face large fines. They could also face business limits and legal action. Industry groups NAREDCO and CREDAI must ensure their members register.

The APRERA Chairman stressed that compliance builds a fair market. This encourages investment in Andhra Pradesh real estate.
