The GST Council cut taxes this month on main building items. That covers cement, granite, and marble. It should trim costs for builders. Buyers get some ease too. In GST 2.0, cement and ready-mix concrete face 18% tax. That’s from 28%. Bricks, tiles, and sand drop to 5%. That’s from 18%. Paints and varnishes hit 18%. Down from 28%.

He added that slow starts this year cut builder rivalry. “New projects launch in a calm market. They spend little on ads. Sales move slow but sure. No big holiday pushes past easy plans mean no GST pass to buyers yet,” he said.
