Trump Media’s Rs 1 lakh crore stake to lift Telangana’s Future City onto the world real estate stage

Future City spans 765 square kilometers along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor. It sits on Hyderabad’s southern edge between Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar highways.

Telangana’s bold Future City plan drew fresh attention. Trump Media, linked to US President Donald Trump, aims to invest up to Rs 1 lakh crore over 10 years in this new greenfield city.

This pledge ranks as one of India’s biggest private bets on an urban project. It casts Future City as a world-class hub for real estate, infrastructure, tech, media, and mixed developments.

Experts predict it will boost demand in industrial, commercial, residential, and logistics spaces. That will relieve strain on Hyderabad’s crowded IT zones.

Where may Trump Media invest?

Eric Swider, director at Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), spoke this month at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. He revealed plans for Rs 1 lakh crore in Telangana Future City over a decade.

Officials and experts expect the funds to cover real estate, infrastructure, smart systems, and media-tech projects in Future City over 10 years.

Though details remain under wraps, experts see investments in top-grade office areas for media, tech, and digital firms. TMTG may also fund mixed-use sites with offices, retail, hotels, and homes.

Beyond property, Trump Media could back digital and media setups like studios, data centers, and support assets, sources say.

Reports show early talks for Rs 41,000 crore projects as part of the Rs 1 lakh crore total. These aim to build a global media hub with smart-tech features. No formal deals are public yet.

Trump’s brand already graces India through luxury towers in Mumbai, Pune, Gurugram, and Kolkata via licensing deals.

Analysts view TMTG’s Telangana move as a step into heavy investments like property, media, hotels, and smart infrastructure in Future City.

TMTG gave no quick reply to Moneycontrol queries on Future City plans. Updates will follow any response.

What is Future City?

Hyderabad real estate sources trace it to the old Pharma City idea under K Chandrasekhar Rao. That sat near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, about an hour from central Hyderabad.

After the Revanth Reddy Congress government took power in December 2023, the 30,000-acre plan shifted. It grew into Future City, now drawing groups like Trump Media & Technology Group.

Planners see it as a vast city for tech, manufacturing, green living, and global funds. Known as Bharat Future City, it fits Telangana’s growth blueprint.

Future City spans 765 square kilometers along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor on Hyderabad’s southern outskirts between Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar highways. Leaders pitch it as a standalone urban zone blending jobs, homes, services, and industry.

The state will fund major infrastructure like fast roads to Hyderabad and the airport, plus later metro and rail links. It gets its own power, water, waste systems, and digital setup for data-heavy sectors.

Future City targets chips, electronics, electric cars, green power, AI, data centers, and biotech.

Officials say it builds on Hyderabad’s HITEC City success in Gachibowli but on a bigger scale. This new city matches Hyderabad’s size yet skips traffic woes.

Investment size and timelines

No final figure from the state yet. Estimates point to $20-30 billion (Rs 1.6-2.5 lakh crore) over 20-25 years for public works, private factories, and property.

Insiders note phase one in five to seven years covers core infrastructure, tech zones, logistics parks, and starter homes near airport roads. Later phases bring big office areas, townships, shops, hotels, and community sites.

Like other new Indian cities, it needs big spends on roads, water, power, and basics. Up to Rs 40,000 crore is set aside by 2030. Land grabs lag, with some farmer pushback.

Plans add a top film city with actor Ajay Devgn, a Vantara-linked animal center, and Rs 3,000 crore hotels.

Real Estate boom

Trump Media’s Rs 1 lakh crore over 10 years should kickstart commercial property, digital setups, and mixed projects, sources say.

The site will drive needs in homes, offices, IT, mixed-use, factories, logistics, data centers, and shops.

Madhusudhan G, CMD of Sumadhura Group, notes such projects boost real estate appeal.

He adds Future City will spawn premium homes, offices, and factories that draw local and foreign money. Jobs and business clusters will fuel demand.

Sumadhura pledged Rs 600 crore for a 100-acre industrial and warehouse park in Telangana.

It should create over 8,000 jobs. Our com
