Real Estate Agent Caught on Camera Trying to Assault Two Young Girls in Andheri

A horrifying incident in Andheri East, Mumbai, was quickly averted on Saturday thanks to alert parents and surveillance footage. A 58-year-old real estate agent, identified as Rajan Jadhav, was caught attempting to sexually assault two young girls, aged 6 and 7, while they were playing in a residential building near Chakala.

The shocking incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the MIDC police jurisdiction. Jadhav allegedly approached the minors under the pretext of chatting with them before attempting to molest them.


Quick Action Thwarts the Crime

Fortunately, the man’s actions were captured by CCTV cameras installed in the building. The footage immediately alerted the building residents and the children’s parents. They acted swiftly, rushing to intercept and detain the accused before he could cause any further harm.

Following his capture, Jadhav was handed over to the MIDC Police Station. Based on the parents’ complaint and the undeniable CCTV evidence, the police immediately registered a case under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been formally arrested and remains in custody as the investigation continues.

Police officials noted that the initial evidence is strong. Authorities are currently reviewing additional footage and verifying details about the accused’s background, including any potential prior offenses.

The MIDC police emphasized that this case serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of community awareness, functional surveillance systems, and immediate reporting in safeguarding children within residential areas.
