Umrao Singh Prithviraj Ostwal, director of Ostwal Builders, faces arrest. He is accused of fraud using fake permits. This affected many homebuyers in Thane. Thirteen criminal cases are tied to him. Police began their inquiry in May.

Officials announced on Monday that a major real-estate director is in custody. He allegedly defrauded buyers of millions. This happened by selling apartments built with fake permits in Thane. Ostwal reportedly created false construction permits. He presented these fake approvals as real documents. Police stated he built extra units beyond approved limits. These were in Ostwal Paradise Building Number 6. He sold these units to buyers, committing fraud.

A complaint was filed on May 16. It was at Nayanagar Police Station. Charges include cheating and forgery. The Economic Offences Wing is leading the probe. They believe Ostwal was directly involved. Crime branch officers found Ostwal at his home. He tried to escape but was caught. He was then given to the EOW.

More findings show thirteen criminal cases against him. These are at several police stations. Authorities advise people to check all permits carefully. Do this before buying property.
